Demo Reel ’11

This is a compilation of my video work during my time at Centenary College. I strive to show the diverseness of my work and how I can incorporate interesting angles into each project that is handed to me.

Shreveport House Concert Series

This is a video I directed and edited with the help of Fairfield Studios. Actually, I should say that Fairfield Studios provided everything that I needed and I’m the one that helped them. Let me explain: Once a month Fairfield Studios hosts a concert for folk/blues musicians that grew up in Shreveport and became famous in their own unique way. Fairfield Studios provides them a nice location to perform and gives them the option of having a video made of their concert. A majority of them are excited that a video will be made, but there are a few that have declined.

For those that agree to the video, cameras are positioned in regards to how many people will be on stage and where they will perform on stage. Also, their instruments and vocal microphones are plugged into the studio sound booth to merge great sound to a great video. The problem is that the studio has a hard time getting people to shoot, direct, and edit the concerts because they are not getting paid to do it. This concert series is Fairfield Studios’ community project.

So, this is where I come in. I am currently a senior at Centenary College and I am about to obtain my degree in Film/Video Production. When I heard about this opportunity I jumped on it right away. I started off being a camera operator for the concerts during my junior year of college. Then as time passed they eventually let me direct the concerts.

The video I posted above is a concert I directed this past August. It is the fifth show that I have directed. Nothing makes me happier than improving my cinematography/directing/editing skills. I have enjoyed my time at Fairfield Studios and I hope it continues to influence others like it has influenced me.
